Plot:
Scott and Kelly are under orders to extract information from a Soviet defector, Marisa Dreisko and protect her from any Russian agents who are eager to get her back. Things aren't as they seem as some Russian agents do follow their path, and Scotty is not quite sure if she really is defecting or providing red herrings and wild geese.
But, go figure, Kelly starts to fall for her as well! And if that doesn't complicate matters, Marissa shortly disappears later...

R. B. Mitsch's most memorable
scene and/or quote:
Marissa: "We were always warned not to get too friendly with another agent."
Scotty: "In case one gets killed."
Kelly: "Well, they told us the same thing - that's why neither one of us gets killed. You can follow the logic there surely."

R. B. Mitsch's review and rating:
An intriguing episode that ranks as only standard viewing. But standard in I Spy always mean an above par story and such is the case here. There are enough twists and good scenes to make this watchable but it is a tad predictable. The Russian defector plot gets a decent treatment here and the final chase scene is terrific. If they could give awards for the best premieres and opening teasers this one would certainly be in the running.

D. P. Cole's most memorable
scene and/or quote:
(Mr. Mitsch and I must have a similar sense of humor, so I'll scrape up something else instead:)
Kelly: "Beautiful long lean body-300 horses under there, carpet, bucket seats- the whole thing..."
Scotty: "Bucket seats?"
Kelly: "The woman has gone off with our car."
Scott: "Ha- i thought you were talking about Marissa man with one heck of a body there with bucket seats..."
Kelly: "No man, if they got Marissa then what are they going to do to her? torture her? Kill her? on the other hand, when European fanatics get their hands on an American sports car that can truly be tragic."

D. P. Cole's review and rating:
Aside from some logic points - such as why Scott and Kelly take Marisa out for a walk in the woods when it's just possible the KGB might find and try to kill her - this story is a very good season opener worthy of a viewing!
