D. P. Cole's review and rating:
Groovy story! What a gas! Is it just me, or did the chick's frequent use of the word "gas" as a replacement term for "wonderful" just a tad annoying, even for 1966?
Okay, that aside, this story has a great deal for it -- smuggling, betrayal, attempted murder, kidnapping, accidental sale of goods pertaining to smuggling to a ditzy girl, two agents assigned to protect the ditzy girl at all costs, etc. All of the wholesome stuff needed to make a good episode.
One scene in particular was chilling. It's the revelation that the boy, Miguel, turns out to be an opium addict -- induced by Porada (the smuggling ringleader.) Porada intends to give Miguel (who recently betrayed him) and Kathy a very high opium overdose which would cause a fairly nasty death. That's when Kathy realizes what a twit she's been and promptly starts to cry. Oddly enough, the quality of writing makes one feel sympathy for her, especially since she is the daughter of a high ranking visible official...
The ending is corny, obviously predictable, but obviously needed. I suppose it's for the best that they didn't show Kelly spanking her, but oh well.
