R. B. Mitsch's review and rating:
An outstanding episode! A terrific premiere
that kicks the series off right. The pace moves swiftly, the dialogue packs punch (kudos to Robert Culp's script), Earle Hagan's score emanates pure cool, great location work and the whole story is just plain original. Particular notice for Ivan Dixon's performance as Elroy and a very funny 007 in-joke. Classic.
Rating: 10/10

D. P. Cole's most memorable
scene and/or quote:
Official (upon hearing Scott's report of Brown): "You disliked him intensely?"
Scotty: "No I enjoy being made to feel stupid while I'm pleading for my country. Gives me a glow all over."

D. P. Cole's review and rating:
There could have been a better episode to open the series, but there are very few which actually qualify. In other words, this story is one of the best examples of the series; complete with engaging plot, interesting characters, and superb writing.
